Note about Realtor as a Synonym for a Profession.

How would this sentence look without “Realtor” In it?

The Realtor looked in the MLS and showed me some real estate listings. I bought a home and the Realtor entered the SOLD price into the MLS. Now the Real Estate AGENT is NOT allowed to Use the MLS… So you can’t really replace the word Realtor with real estate agent, now can you.. so The Realtor…. Is really only appropriate. Yet Mary Newill likes to “pretend” your NOT allowed to Use Realtor in describing a profession… your JUST a Real Estate Agent who happens to ( HAS TO) join the National Association of Realtors to be in “their” club and to use their database. Hmmmm… things sure are messed up over there at NAR… let’s take bets on how long they can keep up the illusion that they are needed, that they do not violate anti-trust laws, that they are out to protect the consumer, promote a spirit of cooperation and enforce the Code of Ethics… NoT.

KEEP Realtor from Being "Public" - Why ?

They Say..."many REALTORS® don't realize the importance of protecting the trademark. If we don't protect it and it becomes "public" it will lose all its meaning. "

This in Regard to Protecting the Trademark, THEY don't want you to call them a Realtor - but they - the troops in the field most ALL call themselves Realtor.

They don't Want the WORD realtor to become "Public" domain - this is Scary - Controling - and shows the Mind Set of the National Association of Realtors in My Opinion.

This goes Right along with the Association of Realtors NOT wanting you, the General Public to ACCESS what THEY call "Their" database when it was your Credit, Your Hard Work, your money - blood, sweat and tears that Created the Data Base THEY think that they Own.

Not wanting a Word to Be Public Domain, Public Property should be against every Law of the Land in EVERY way. What if Someone Who Invents, started a Club and called it "Inventor®" and made you pay to join, then everything you invented calling yourself an Inventor you would answer to them the all knowing power who trade marked the Name.. Realtor - SHOULD not have been allowed to be trademarked in the first place.

What about Professor - what if that was Trademarked?

What if You wanted to be a "Supervisor" you had to Join a club and be a member to access the job and you could not call yourself a "Supervisor®" without a trademark on it. the letters "OR" on the end of a word and Scared it will be public, seems to me like the Realtors® are Scraping and Crawling to hold on to "their" Profession that your NOT allowed to call a profession.

It is a GOOD thing that "Realtor" did not get to Trademark to OR names as well and keep them from being PUBLIC... What a Racket...

Realtor®S Label themselves on Websites and in ads everyWHERE - not as Real Estate Agents, NOT as Salespeople or Real Estate Brokers but AS Realtor®... Yet NAR says the WORD Realtor® is NOT to be used as a synonym to a profession but THOUSANDS of Ads... thousand of website have Real Estate Agents - Brokers using Realtor® IN Place of "real estate agent" and Yet NAR Does Nothing about that but they want me to Sugar Coat www.SavvyBroker.com

The Department of JUSTICE should STOP the Blatan- Rampant Disgrace and Consumer Attack that the Association of Realtors and it's army of Realtors is Doing to Innocent Real Estate Consumers Every Single Day.... STOP the Goliath - the National Association of Realtors - THEY are a Billion Dollar Industry that is Making Money from Consumer Data on Websites, Not policing their own industry (yet not to be confused with a Profession"), money from Accreditations that Mean Absolutely NOTHING to the real estate consumer, money for technology to Realtors that real just makes NAR money and Does not Help YOUR Realtor actually get Internet Marketing.

NAR does not want your REALTOR to compete with them so they teach them Internet Marketing that leads to Mega-Sites that they own ALL or part interest in and on Meg Sites - Your Real Estate for Sale in your Specific town - in Your Specific State Gets Lost... NAR is NOT intended to operate for the best interest of the Public.
